HYB4 Galerie of Kampus Hybernská started its operation in 2017. Since then, it has expanded to two exhibition spaces presenting a curated selection of traditional and new media. Both exhibition spaces (A.1 HYB4 Galerie and C.0 HYB4 Galerie) present works by both established and emerging artists.
The first exhibition of the HYB4 Galerie took place in 2017 during Diversity Week in a smaller space next to the Café. After years of dilapidation, the space required extensive cleaning and gentle repairs to bring it to its current white cube form.
Later, the spaces in Building A that had previously served as aristocratic apartments or StB interrogation rooms were also opened to the public.
Nowadays, this larger HYB4 Galerie space with 600 m² and 11 rooms changes its appearance with each new exhibition project.
A joint project of the Czech Institute of Egyptology, Faculty of Arts UK and HYB4 Galerie of Kampus Hybernská connects ancient Egyptian texts and contemporary visual arts. The project, led by Associate Professor Jiří Janák, builds on the research of ancient Egyptian religion and is based on new translations and interpretations of the original sources.
Již v pondělí 30. září začne v Kampusu Hybernská velkolepé zahájení nové sezóny. V HYB4 Galeriích se otevřou hned dvě výstavy zvučných jmen českého uměleckého prostředí, Vladimíra Skrepla a Jiřího Petrboka. Dva dny poté proběhne V Hybernské 4 společná akce Univerzity Karlovy a Pražského magistrátu UniKátní START, kterým slavnostně odstartuje nový akademický rok 2024/25.
Kristýna Šormová patří nejzajímavější současné české umělkyně. Ve svých dílech kombinuje fotografii, malbu, kresbu a tvorbu uměleckých objektů. Začínala s realistickou malbou v ateliéru Michaela Rittsteina, během pobytů v zahraničí však našla cestu k abstrakci, inspirované krajinou a přírodou. A právě tato díla vystavuje až do 24. srpna v C.0 HYB4 Galerii Kampusu Hybernská.
Filip has been associated with HYB4 Galerie since its inception. He was one of the main initiators involved in its creation. Today, as a curator, he selects exhibited works with artists and forms the concept of individual exhibitions as well as the gallery as a whole.
As a producer of HYB4 Galerie, Michal communicates with artists and arranges with them all practical matters regarding exhibitions. He organizes openings and guided tours.
