As part of the Queer 24 cycle of events, the French Institute of Prague, the Goethe-Institut and Charles University are organizing a roundtable on the LGBTQ+ experience in the academic sector, "Breaking Barriers in Academia", on April 18 at Kampus Hybernská. Supported by the Franco-German Cultural Fund, the event will bring together French, German and Czech speakers to discuss the difficulties encountered by students and researchers from the LGBTQ+ community, and existing good practices.
The target group is students, academics and university staff, associations, policy makers and anyone interested in this topic. Among the participants, there will be: Léovanie Das, in charge of the fight against anti-LGBT hatred at the DILCRAH (French Interministerial Delegation to Combat Racism, Anti-Semitism and Anti-LGBT Hatred), Michal Pitoňák, head of the department dedicated to the mental health of LGBTQ+ people at the Czech National Institute of Mental Health, Eileen Schwanold, Diversity Officer and representative of the LGBTQIA+ network "Science and Beλond" at the University of Hamburg.
The entire debate will be in English.
