There is a rich timbre to pain that echoes through generations; a sharp change in posture, a fracture in the bones of a city, a poison dwelling deep within the ground. Pain strikes with a rope arrow attaching the map to all movement beneath it. It is the pull of the interwoven rope stretched between us that opens up space to see through, stories buried and built again. The days of the cavalry are in motion.
Slog Husk Raw Yarn is an exhibition that presents the cultural resilience of historic battles, mapping existence in the form of remnants left behind. The exhibition binds together the work of three artists: Raynar Rogers, a stimming painter from South Wales who has undergone extensive research into Wales’ industrial history; Manuela Tabarés, a Spanish artist whose practice is centred in sculptural spatial drawing and conceptual diagrams; and Anna Nicole Kolisnyk, a Ukrainian immersive artist who blends traditional art materials with elements of the 3D digital realm
