This time, Kateřina Vacková (vocals, double bass) and Jan Karhánek (electronics) will perform. Afterwards, we host a jam session open to all musicians, regardless of their background. We want to create an open environment where musicians feel free to be creative in the moment, nothing is predetermined and the only expectation is a high level of presence. A basic backline is provided.
Additionaly we’re open for people to suggest the line up so it doesn’t have to be currated by us anymore. We want to keep Hybrid Sessions being a platform for experimenting so please: no already existing bands.
Jan Karhánek, a synthesizer player, has a background in classical music (violin, symphony orchestra), then switched to flamenco and electric guitar before stopping. His short compositions and performances include elements of improvisation, he likes to translate impressions from visual images and objects into music. It is characteristic of him to give space both to his inner self and to his instrument, he takes inspiration from randomness. Stays true to one Moog Matriarch synthesizer for its sonic character.
Kateřina Vacková is a signer and bass player based in Prague. She’s a part of bands like Metastavy, Uthando, Blue Oyster Court, and At Ease. She also studied at the Conservatory of Jaroslav Ježek.
