THE CITY GATES (Post-Punk, Shoegaze – Montreal, Canada – Icy Cold Records / Velouria Recordz)
Hailing from the cold zones of Montreal, Canada, The City Gates is a hybrid post-punk, shoegaze band who gained international resonance in the dark alternative music scene with their Age of Resilience (Icy Cold Records / Velouria Recordz) and Forever Orbiter LPs. Both albums featured in several „Best albums of the Year“ charts, and the band has been highlighted in well-known magazines such as Sonic Seducer, Orkus, Drowned in Sound, and Post-Punk.
That made The City Gates toured in the European Union, U.K., USA, and Canada. The band shared stages with A Place to Bury Strangers, Trisomie 21, Actors, The Foreign Resort, HAPAX, Solar Fake, Vision Video, Golden Apes, Nothing, The Veldt, which further might give you an indication of their sonic landscape.
Their electrifying live shows can be described as a relentless barrage of melodic guitars, explosive drums and aggressive bass, mixed with cathedral-esque vocals, coalesced with energetic performances and visuals. Which brings the audience into an interstellar journey that keeps followers wanting more and more.
The City Gates next album LP is due for 2024 on Icy Cold Records and Velouria Recordz.
COSMOBRIGADE (Post-Punk – Prague)
CosmoBrigade is a four-piece post punk/darkwave band hailing from Prague, CZ. They recently unleashed their debut EP SpacePit, which was very well received around Europe (voted Track of the Day by Italian White Light//White Heat Magazine, and featured on several German darkwave compilation albums such as The Berlin Gravedigger’s Club. The band is currently on a mini European tour, having played Berlin, Vienna and Poland, planning to release a 9-track album early 2024 on the German label Dark Dimensions.
RIME (Alternative, Punk – Prague)
Dying stars form Prague’s underground, Rime bring together a luscious combination of alternative rock, metal and hardcore punk. After releasing their first EP Anxiety in 2020, the band went mostly quiet due to frequent changes in line-up. Now newly reformed, they set out to spread dark euphoria with their music everywhere they go.
