A three-day masterclass to develop and hone basic acting skills, with a focus on improvisation. The goal is to build or consolidate basic acting skills and promote self-confidence (on stage), as well as enhance awareness of teammates (acting partners).
A short but intensive Workshop Module in English (and Czech) will be led by a German theatre actor and music composer Daniel Nerlich. “My 10-year experience teaching stage studies and improvisation at the University of the Arts Hannover (GER), as well as 20 years of acting in German-language theatres (Volksbühne, Staatstheater Hannover, Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf and Basel) have helped me build an education routine that is based on the teachings of Meisner, Johnstone, Stanislawski, Strasberg and others,” he says.
The methods will be effectively adapted to the needs and impulses of the group of participants. This particular approach is particularly suitable for theatre and film professionals (actors/actresses, directors/directors and others), students of performing arts or theory, performers, but those who need preparation for entrance exams.
The module will include practical research in areas such as: impulses, originality as an obstacle, building tactics to avoid “playing”, exploring the stage and discovering space for movement, finding one's own potential, building confidence and self-confidence, mastering professional terminology and acquiring skills of communication and self-reflection in the group and beyond.
The course will be conducted in English (assistance and translation into Czech will be provided by MgA. Andrijana Trpković).
