Where does ADHD end and where do I begin?
ADHD is known for frequent comorbidities and numerous intermingling with other disorders. For people who experience its symptoms, it can be challenging not only the process of getting the “right” diagnosis, but also recognizing oneself and how one fits into the world of neurotypicals.
The second run of the community-educational event Inattentive Friday focuses this time on the boundaries of ADHD -- what is often mistaken for, how it affects our identity, how it interferes with our lives. Again, we want to give everyone who is affected by ADHD or is only interested in it, a space to gain knowledge and share experiences.
We have prepared a series of lectures and discussions, specifically waiting for you:
Lecture: How to live an authentic ADHD life in a neurotypical society?
✅ In what way does society throw sticks under their feet for people with ADHD, and how does this reflect on the psyche of the inattentive? (Bc. et Bc. Alena Spálenska)
✅ The search for authentic identity with ADHD through the perspective of sociology and philosophy (Mgr. Alexandra Snoh)
Follow-up discussion: Where does ADHD end and do I begin?
A pair of lectures on interchangeable phenomena
✅ Talent or diagnosis? What is giftedness and why do many gifted people take away an ADHD diagnosis? (Bc. Mojmir Mykiska)
✅ When otherness connects: Why is it so difficult to separate ADHD and autism spectrum disorder from each other? (Bc. Adela of Sodom)
Moderated Discussion: Problem areas of life with ADHD and what about them? (Bc. Karolina Wogurkova)
A rest room will also be available all the time to recharge flashlights after listening for a long time. The evening is followed by an afterparty complete with stand-up by two creators from the community
We would like to see you again on 23 February at Campus Hybernská. Participation is free, just register through the form that we will publish soon in an event on FB.
