Vladimír Skrepl's exhibition as part of the opening of the autumn exhibition season and the new school semester 24/25 in the HYB4 Galerie of the Kampus Hybernská presents an extensive collection of the artist's works from private collections and a selection by the author himself.
Skrepl, an artist and former pedagogue at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (AVU), will present distinctive, many times unseen works representing an insight into his unique artistic style and personality. His work has influenced a whole range of artists due to its freedom, indiscriminate and cheeky handwriting, which often does not take any censorship.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on September 30, from 6PM in A.1 HYB4 Galerie Kampus Hybernská.
The opening will also include a performance by artist Jo Blin.
Through interactions between the performer in the room and a mysterious robotic voice, the DAILOGS series explores the complicated relationships between human beings and the systems they trust.
Presented here as fragments scattered around the exhibition, the performance tells the incomplete story of a character with no name who—for unknown reasons—allows her own decisions to be dictated by a not-quite-ready technological entity. Each scene will show a different stage in her precarious condition as she follows instructions, going through various kinds of mysterious trainings and self-help rituals, her intentions ranging from basic self-improvement to taking over the world.
