Hybrid Sessions is a monthly series at Kampus Hybernská. We feature an opening improvised duo set with two musicians coming from different backgrounds to form a new constellation. Afterwards, we host a jam session open to all musicians, regardless of background. We want to create an open environment where musicians feel free to be creative in the moment, nothing is predetermined and the only expectation is a high level of presence. A basic backline will be provided.

Additionaly we're open for people to suggest the line up of the group so the group doesn't have to be currated by us anymore. Anyway we want to keep Hybrid Sessions being a platform for experimenting so please: no already existing bands.

This time Marco Fiorini (guitar) and Filip Tománek (drums) will perform.

Filip Tomanek is a Pardubice player of percussion instruments and percussion. Despite his studies at the Classical Conservatory, the KJJ Jazz School and the Jazz Department of HAMU, he strives to maintain a self-taught approach. He currently works in improvisation duo with Jan Bara (Boring 7:47), Vojtěch Výravský (Meander), Andrew Harlan, in trio with Luan Gonçalves and Jan Bara (XIRÊ), as well as in bands Rusty Cowboys and Yamaha Oriental. He collaborates with the PMP Ensemble orchestra, in dance performances and workshops with the organization SE.S.TA, or with the artistic association Ostružina. He works as a choreographer of the department of modern dance at the Prague Dance Conservatory.

Marco Fiorini is an Italian guitarist and researcher dedicated to improvisation and new forms of musical expression with a mixed background in artistic and scientific studies. He currently lives in Paris and is part of the Music Representation team at the IRCAM Institute in Paris, where he works on the co-creator improvisation software Somax2. Here he conducts artistic residencies with double bassist Jöelle Léandre and percussionist Lorenzo Colombo, exploring the interaction between musicians and artificial intelligence in the field of improvisation. He performed in hundreds of concerts in Europe, moving between free improvisation, spontaneous composition, sound performance and sound art.

The concert will be preceded by a workshop Improvisation with artificial intelligence which takes place from 4PM to 8:30PM
